Pennsylvania Workforce Development Pennsylvania agencies have partnered to prepare Pennsylvania’s workforce and keep the Commonwealth competitive in today’s global, knowledge-based economy. To align the services of education and training institutions with employer and employee needs, its task force identified Pennsylvania’s Competitive Industries, encompassing nine industry clusters.

Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) PHEAA is one of the nation’s largest, full-service financial aid organizations. The Agency strives to create affordable access to higher education for students and families, through grants, loans and other special programs.
SSHE is the governing body of the 14 state-owned universities in the system. The community colleges and the SSHE universities created the Academic Passport program to assist community college students who earn associates degrees to transition to the SSHE university of their choice. Pennsylvania Association of Colleges & Universities (PACU) PACU is a voluntary member organization comprised of more than 100 institutions representing all facets of higher education. PACU seeks to develop its members’ mutual interests for the benefit of both higher education and the people served by higher education.
Pennsylvania National Guard
As a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, you have access to military educational benefits, such as the Montgomery GI Bill or Tuition Assistance program, and can gain skills and experience that can give you the edge in the job market. Collaborative for Excellence in Teacher Preparation in Pennsylvania (CETP-PA) The primary purpose of CETP-PA is to align SSHE universities’ mathematics and science education programs with the new state and national curricula standards. This initiative joins SSHE math, science and education faculty with teams of public school teachers, community college faculty and representatives of business and industry.
