|
The Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges contracted the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS) to undertake a study of Pennsylvania's community colleges within the context of Pennsylvania's unmet needs. The study, funded by the Heinz Endowments, was undertaken between January and September 2001. The final report was issued in October 2001. NCHEMS' Final Report provides data and information about Pennsylvania's population and economy including educational attainment and income, access to higher education and training, and how the Commonwealth compares with competitor states in key areas. The Final Report identifies policy barriers to meeting the unmet needs of the state and makes recommendations for change. The community colleges will be utilizing this major study as they develop proposals for state policy makers to consider. NCHEMS' Final Report
