PA Community Colleges Mentioned in US News & World Report

Community College of Philadelphia
ccp_logo.jpgCCP has received a $1.6 million grant from the US Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration to expand & redisign the college's Northeast Regional Center, a multifaceted project that is expected to create the first nationally certified "green" college facility in Philadelphia.

Community College of Allegheny County
ccac_logo.jpgRalph Proctor, chair of the ethnic and diversity studies program at CCAC will be awarded the Greater Pittsburgh YWCA 2008 Racial Justice Award for Lifetime Achievement. This award recognizes individuals, companies and organizations that have demonstrated a committment to eliminating racism. Congratulations!

Westmoreland County Community College
wccclogo.jpgWCCC has received a $2 million grant which they will use to increase student success and persistence rates, thereby increasing enrollment through retention and improving student graduation rates.

Pennsylvania community colleges responded to record joblessness with tuition waivers for local unemployed workers.  3,100 Pennsylvanians have received workforce training or vocational education since the Spring 2009 semester under this program.
