Since 2003, the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has fostered the development of partnerships within the education and business communities to develop programs in bio-technology/life sciences, information technology/electro-optics and advanced manufacturing and materials. The development of these programs supports the state’s initiative to increase the supply of highly-skilled employees for jobs made more technical by the rapid advancement of technology, research, new processes and production techniques.
2+2+2 benefits both students and employers. Students obtain the proper education to qualify for challenging high-tech jobs, while employers get trained workers to fill positions that keep their businesses competitive.
